· Day to day will mostly be product development, where you focus on developing new and innovative water based, solvent based and hot melt adhesives which give market-leading advantages to the sales team.
· Involved directly with suppliers and customers.
· Learn about new and novel raw materials, reporting this back to the board in addition to getting new prices on raw materials to drive cost savings.
· Partnering with sales to support customers’ product/ technical requirements to aid formulating and product development.
· Manufacturing support to customer factories as required.
Provide leadership in the laboratory, providing man management and driving best practice.
Requirements:
At Least a HND or above in a science – either Physics or Chemistry
At least 3 years of experience in new product development from scope to commercialisation
At least 3 years of experience in formulating in a transferable technology such as inks, coatings etc
Driving licence to travel around UK and occasionally Europe
Experienced in raw material technologies
Experience in scaling up lab batches to production batches
Computer literate on word, excel etc to reasonable level
