Reporting into the UK Sales Managers, this is a hands-on role within a rapidly growing specialty chemical manufacturing business.
The role offers a good career path into a global commercial role for the successful applicant.
Service and further develop existing accounts through upselling, cross-selling, etc.
Use appropriate routes to market and market research to identify and develop new accounts and business opportunities
Identify the UK’s emerging markets and market shifts while maintaining awareness of new products and competition status.
Achieve company and personal objectives by planning thoroughly, setting sales goals, analysing performance data and researching industry trends/needs
Create and execute a strategic sales plan that expands their customer base and the company’s reach within the UK
Maintain a strong awareness of competitor status, products, activity, pricing, market trends, marketing techniques/activities
Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Represent the company at Industry specific events and remain knowledgeable of key market and industry trends
Manage sales pipeline to drive new business opportunities and meet agreed objectives
Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships
Requirements:
The successful candidate will have experience in a similar B2B sales role with a track record of developing and executing sales strategies to grow product sales performance and profit.
The successful candidate will be a motivated self-starter, proactive by nature and customer focused, with the drive and ability to operate in the field with minimum supervision throughout the UK.
A minimum of three years’ B2B sales experience in the chemical industry with a manufacturer or Distributor
Degree qualification in chemistry/chemical engineering or related technical subject OR QBE
Experience / knowledge of the full 360 sales process an advantage
Successful track record in B2B sales or account management and business development activities, upselling, cross-selling etc
Credible customer facing skills, highly organised with strong time management skills, commercial acumen and the ability to build trusted business relationships
A tenacious and proactive self-starter, who is results driven with a genuine passion for sales and excellent communication skills
Interests in the global chemical market a plus
Valid UK Driver’s License essential and willingness to travel up to 50% of your time to meet customers
Knowledge/experience in the field of surfactants, antifoam agents, silicone emulsions
Experience in applications such as water treatment, coatings, construction, printing, food & beverage or adhesives
