The Company:
The Client are a world leading designer and manufacturer of high-quality CNC tool and cutter grinders.
The Role:
- Reporting to the Applications Product Development Team leader, you will be responsible for the design and development of the grinding applications process.
- You will play a pivotal role in creating cutting-edge products and services that wow their customers, all whilst ensuring high quality solutions are provided through testing and validation.
- This role will see you contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment and work closely with Design and Manufacturing engineers.
- You will be the voice of their customer in product design and communicate this to stakeholders across the business.
- Consult branches, customers, and operations during the preliminary design stage to accurately determine the customer requirements from a technical perspective.
- Consult with design engineers to ensure design concepts support best practice process design (grinding).
- Prepare and execute Test Plans (CVP&R and DVP&R), documenting results and feeding this back into the development process.
- Test software rigorously to ensure product quality and usability.
- Be accountable for technical accuracy of calculations and execution of grinding simulations and programs.
- Contribute towards building Applications knowledge through use of their applications knowledge base.
- Prepare necessary support documentation for project, including preparing and distributing customer grinding performance reports.
- Provide technical support for Sales staff, Design Engineers, Marketing, Operations and Service Engineers and customers.
- Methodically analyse, evaluate, and recommend options to improve the efficiency of existing equipment and processes.
Requirements:
- Comprehension of grinding principles and their application to machine tool design.
- Ability to liaise and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills for root cause analysis and problem solving.
- Demonstrate a practical application of data collection and analysis for scientific decision making.
- Effective time management skills and ability to work to deadlines.
- Adaptable and flexible attitude.
